Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective and environmentally sensitive way of managing pests. It combines a wide range of management methods including plant resistance, refuge crops, effective sampling, biological control, physical barriers and traps, fallow management, tolerance of non-economic damage, effective monitoring and pest control thresholds, and chemical control (as a last resort) 1. IPM can be applied in many settings such as on farms, in homes, gardens, workplaces and natural spaces such as national parks
